You Might Find Your Answer

What size is the bin?

Our bins are standard 240L wheelie bins, the same size used by local councils for rubbish and recycling. We can also provide a larger bin if required — please contact us at sales@cablemonkeyltd.co.uk to discuss options.

Do I have to pay anything upfront?

No, nothing upfront! We’ll just need a few details about your trade and how you plan to use the bin before we drop it off.

What if I don’t collect much scrap cable or metal?

No rush — there’s no time limit on filling your bin. Whether it takes two weeks or two months, we’ll collect when you’re ready.

I might not be home during the day — how does that work?

That’s fine! Most customers leave their bin in a secure, accessible spot for us to collect. Just let us know your preferred location, and we’ll handle the rest.

Is my bin safe from thieves?

We recommend storing your bin in a safe, out-of-sight location. On collection days, it’s best if someone is present, but if not, you can share the location details securely with us so our driver can access it safely.

How do I contact you when my bin is full?

Simply complete the quick collection form on our website or contact us by phone, text, or email — and we’ll get you booked in right away.

Do you accept anything other than cable?

Yes! We also recycle a wide range of non-ferrous metals including copper, brass, aluminium, and lead. Get in touch if you’re unsure — our team is happy to help.

How do I know you’re weighing it correctly?

Our trained team separates and weighs all materials individually to ensure accuracy. If you’d like, we can provide photo evidence of your items on the scales for full transparency.

What are your collection times?

Collections run Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, in line with the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013.

Do I need to fill the bin completely?

Ideally, yes — please fill your bin to capacity before requesting collection. If you need an early pickup or have extra items that don’t fit, we’ll do our best to accommodate.

How quickly will I get paid?

We aim to pay you at the point of collection, but please allow up to one working day in case of any technical delays.

How will I receive payment?

All payments are made securely via BACS transfer. If you’d prefer another method, let us know — we’re flexible.

How is Cable Monkey environmentally friendly?

We’re committed to recycling responsibly and reducing waste to landfill. Every item we collect is processed through licensed recycling partners who share our values and meet strict environmental standards.

How much do you pay for waste materials?

Our rates are updated daily to make sure you always get the best deal. Because we specialise in cable and non-ferrous metals, we can offer some of the most competitive prices in the industry.
