About Us
We are Cable Monkey, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16077485, with our registered office at WjJW Self Storage Woodland Works, Station Road, Cwmbran, United Kingdom, NP44 2YP.
Basics of Purchasing
These Terms and Conditions form the entire agreement between the supplier of waste (the customer) and Cable Monkey, to the exclusion of all other terms.
Cable Monkey reserves the right to adjust any quoted or expected price for scrap materials if market values change between quotation and collection. Scrap metal values fluctuate regularly, and final pricing is based on the market rate at the time of collection.
Provision of Services
The Cable Monkey bin is provided for customers to store scrap cable and non-ferrous metal waste intended for collection and purchase by Cable Monkey.
It must not be used for general rubbish or any other purpose.
The bin remains the property of Cable Monkey at all times. Customers are expected to maintain and respect the bin. If a bin is lost or damaged beyond use, Cable Monkey may charge a replacement fee of £35, applied at our discretion.
Unless prevented by a Force Majeure Event, Cable Monkey will provide all services with reasonable care and skill.
We make every effort to complete collections on the agreed dates; however, delays may occur due to circumstances outside our control. Any time of arrival provided is an estimate only and not a guarantee.
Customer Responsibilities
You must:
- Provide safe, unobstructed access to the bin and waste materials.
- Inform us of any special circumstances relevant to the collection, including:
- Difficult or restricted access
- Heavy or oversized items
- Work at height
- Secured or locked waste
- Parking restrictions
If incorrect or incomplete information is provided, Cable Monkey may cancel the collection or apply an additional charge for extra labour or time.
If you are not present during collection, you must provide a reliable means of contact. Failure to do so may result in a failed collection. Cable Monkey is not liable for any loss arising from this.
Authority & Safety
You confirm that you have full authority for us to collect the waste. You agree to indemnify Cable Monkey against any claim or cost arising from a lack of authority or third-party dispute.
If hazardous materials are detected (including asbestos, needles, or dangerous substances), Cable Monkey may cease work immediately and leave the premises.
If hazardous materials have already been loaded or processed unknowingly, you will be liable for all associated specialist removal costs.
Waste Transfer Notes
Cable Monkey will sign a Waste Transfer Note at the time of collection.
Any additional documents requested may incur an administrative fee.
Waste producers must retain Waste Transfer Notes for at least two years.
Sharp items (e.g., broken metal, blades, glass) must be stored safely by the customer before collection. They must not be placed loose in bags for the safety of our staff.
Payment and Price
Cable Monkey purchases scrap cable and non-ferrous metals at the market rate on the day of collection, compared with current local competitor pricing.
Payments are next day payment, unless advised otherwise.
There is no upfront charge for receiving a Cable Monkey bin.
Cable Monkey reserves the right to close any customer account without notice if we suspect involvement in illegal activity, bribery, corruption, solicitation of our staff or customers, or any conduct detrimental to Cable Monkey.
Limitation of Liability
Cable Monkey accepts no liability for legal compliance of services carried out under customer instruction. Customers are responsible for ensuring their instructions are lawful.
Cable Monkey is not liable for loss of profit, indirect loss, or consequential loss arising from any service.
Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the services provided.
We cannot guarantee that no property damage will occur during collection. Any damage must be reported before our team leaves the site and confirmed in writing within 7 days. We accept no liability for claims made outside this time.
Cable Monkey is not liable for theft or damage to bins while on customer premises.
Events Outside Our Control (Force Majeure)
Cable Monkey is not responsible for any delay or failure to perform services caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Extreme weather
- Natural disasters
- Public transport failure
- Acts of terrorism
- Civil unrest
- Utility disruptions
- Epidemics/pandemics
Our obligations are suspended for the duration of such events.
Termination
Cable Monkey may terminate its agreement with a customer at any time.
Termination does not affect the right to recover outstanding payments or liabilities.
Assignment
You may not transfer your rights without written permission from Cable Monkey.
Cable Monkey may transfer its rights under these Terms without affecting the customer’s rights.

All notices must be sent to:

Emails are considered received within 24 hours; postal notices within three days.
Data Protection
Cable Monkey will use your personal data only to provide services or inform you of similar services unless you opt out.
We may share your data with credit agencies or relevant third-party partners, in compliance with data protection law.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining Terms will continue in full force.
Failure to exercise any right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver.
These Terms do not grant rights to third parties under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
These Terms are governed by English law, and both parties agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
